Core Skills Training

The only outstanding requirement for Certification after attending Core Skills Training is eight hours of individual/group supervision. The application process is described on www.eft.ca. Final decision regarding readiness for certification is determined by the EFT Centre in Ottawa.

About Core Skills

Course Content

Two 3-day workshops will provide an in depth study of each of the EFT steps. Each day will contain instruction and group supervision of EFT work according to the guidelines set out by the Centre for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT in Ottawa). The first three days cover Stage One of EFT (steps one, two, three, and four) and the second three days cover Stage Two of EFT (steps five, six, and seven for the withdrawer and the pursuer).

There will be opportunity for participants to get feedback on videos of their own work with clients. Bringing your own video to view is necessary to meet the Advanced Externship requirement of certification.

Attendance qualifies participants for Advanced Externship designation with 48 hours of group supervision (CE Credits provided by Aikin Associates Seminars)* which can be applied toward EFT Certification.

Weekend Schedule

Weekend one:

  • Module One: Steps 1-2 Assessment and Alliance
  • Module Two: Steps 3-4 Accessing Primary Emotion and De-Escalation

Weekend two:

  • Module Three: Steps 5-7 Withdrawer ReEngagement
  • Module Four: Steps 5-7 Blamer Softening

Module Five: Tape Presentation (when offered)

Time

Workshops are held on Friday 8:30 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 am – 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm (each days includes one hour for lunch and two 15 minute breaks).

Qualifications

Participants are required to have completed the 4-day EFT Externship and be willing to present their own work through videotape presentation.

Participants must be licensed therapists or license-eligible psychotherapy interns or otherwise legally allowed to practice as mental health professionals.

It’s ideal for participants to have prior experience working with couples and have at least one couple on their current caseload willing to be videotaped for case consultation and feedback of their clinical work.

Completing the registration enrolls the applicant in the full course, or all sessions, of the training and is a declaration of intent to complete the course.

NOTE: ICEEFT does not offer the Certification as EFT Therapist to non-licensed professionals. All participants must be familiar with and commit to abide by all HIPAA regulations.

Cost

$800 per weekend workshop. Lodging and food not included. A minimum of ten participants is required for the training to proceed.

Payment can be made online or by mail. If you would like to pay by mail, please send a check a long with your name, address, phone number and email address to 1107 Ovejas Ave., Davis, CA 95616. Payment for each weekend is due 3 weeks before the Friday meeting.

Cancellation Policy:

Two weeks+ advance notice – Full refund less $40 administrative costs
Between 7-13 days notice – One half of the total fee will be refunded
Less than 1 week notice – We are unable to offer a refund when canceled within one week of the workshop date, due to fixed costs and contractual obligations. When you enroll, it is with the understanding that you will attend. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your attendance.

*CPA Accredited: Aikin Associates Seminars is approved by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to provide continuing education for psychologists.
